These days, we may notice a higher volume in sales from awning companies taking advantage during the summer season to offer their services.
According to the May 2004 European standards UNE-EN 13561, all AWNING INSTALLATION companies are required to certify the safety of their services.
This standard specifies the requirements that each awning should be compliant, for any type of fitting, and is mandatory according to the OFFICIAL STATE GAZATTE (BOE) number 43, published on February 19th, 2005, to take effect on March 1st , 2006, regarding the PERFORMANCE REQUERIMENTS INCLUDING THE SECURITY IN THE SECTION OF AWNINGS.
The EUROPEAN COMMITEE FOR STANDARDIZATION (CEN) has established though the Official State Gazette (BOE) that is IS THE INSTALLATION COMPANY and not the manufacturer WHO is responsible to CERTIFY that each installation of awning is fitted properly.
WHAT THE BUYER SHOULD KNOW:
- An INSTALLER should comply with the EUROPEAN STANDARDS in effects,since incidents can happen during an installation , INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL NOT take a claim for NON-CERTIFIED installations.
- A PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER SHOULD HAVE PROPER CREDITATION, have visible I.D. card showing his personal details, the company information and certification in respecto of installation and quality.
- THE PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION:
Should guarantee a professional fitting of an awning with the management of quality certification UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 conforming to the completion of the standards UNE-EN 13561 reflecting THE CE QUALITY STAMP.
· Should provide the guarantee for the awning.
· Should offer after sales service.
· Toldos La Marina establishments are opened to their customers.
In Alicante province there is only one awning installation company to have obtained the required CERTIFICATION OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT STANDARD ISO 9001:2000. The creditation was awarded to TOLDOS LA MARINA on May 8, 2006 and was audited by Lloyd’s Register of Quality, appicable to the manufacturing, installation, and repair of awnings, as well as pool convers. With our CERTIFICATION NUMBER SG13050304, all our awnings are labelled with the QUALITY STAMP CE.
